Ok, so he is not president, YET… He likely will be as he is currently leading in the polls by over 10 % with a 6% +- sample error. This information coming from polls all over the media industry, even the Republican ones. Another major contributing factor that will give him and the Democratic Party the all time favored seat of power is that the economy has been in its worse shape since the 1929 depression. The credit crisis has hit so hard, that even former FED chair Alan Greenspan has come out to say he was wrong about certain maneuvers that were taken place during his latest term as FED chair. Major corporations are cutting jobs, others have gone bankrupt, countries such as Argentina and other second world countries have called for help to the International Monetary Fund. Goldman Sachs, the premier investment banking firm in the world has declared it will cut its workforce. And lastly, chartists and speculators claim the DOW might fall below 5,000 over the course of the next year leaving all value behind.

To put it simply, the world is REALLY becoming a difficult place to live as companies and governments struggle to make ends meet all across the board. As far as the online gambling industry is concerned, it was legal for its citizens to play and it was also legal to advertise online. This until 2004, when a bill called the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Act) was passed by Congress, therefore making the whole industry illegal. After this took place, many major corporations went broke, and a lot lost a high percentage of income as US citizens were simply not allowed to play and gamble online. Numerous politicians argued the case as the industry would indeed earn billions for the government if properly regulated the industry, but the bills that were recently put into motion such as the one from Barney Frank (HR 5767) fell just short of acceptance.

Some Americans who actually have the means to open foreign accounts and who actually really do want to gamble do so anyway in today’s world as the ban is not properly put into place, and the worst part of this issue is that the government could be making billions if they properly looked at the industry, and regulated it and taxed it instead of negligently banning it. This of course is the main issue as to why Future president Obama would indeed legalize the industry given the fact that the economy has been hit in a sharp manner in this country, and legal entities struggle to survive. In fact, Mr. Obama is in favor of this industry being legalized as he has voted IN FAVOR to government regulation in recent bills. His favorable view along with an economic recession leading into depression might indeed make for a perfect storm leading the government into regulation and the cessation of the UIGEA ban. This point alone combined with the fact that the European Commission has recently formally complained to the World Trade Organization regarding the fact that the USA is acting in an illegal manner by banning foreign companies to trade in their soil (the agreement binds the USA to let this industry and others into action in the US market) are two major points that the new US government will have in favor to lift the ban.

Poker in general has benefited in recent years thanks to the major TV exposure given to Texas Hold´em tournaments, online poker brands buying publicity in major sports TV channels and tournaments, and the World Series of Poker, not to mention, major tournament prizes now publicized. Thanks to these important points, millions of consumers all over the world have taken poker as their main hobby. Not only poker; but online poker in general. The following portrays some positive aspects of playing poker online.

One of the main reasons online poker has gotten so much hype in recent years is the fact the clients can play from the comfort of their own home or office, or even handhelds nowadays. You don’t have to leave home, shower, or even get dressed to start playing poker. Registration is a breeze, and within minutes you can be participating in cash tables and online tournaments. The tournaments are really great. They give you the chance to compete against worldwide players for major jackpot prizes. You literally can compete for millions of dollars everyday given the extensive supply of tournaments available offered by the major online poker brands in the world. The best thing about it is that they are open 24-7 and usually one can find major jackpot tournaments at all hours nowadays.

Another great reason online poker is worth trying is the fact that the technology nowadays is very secure, and fair. Major brands are constantly being monitored by gambling commissions to ensure quality standards, and to meet client needs in all areas, specially fairness and security. Never before have humans played with so much fairness as draws are exerted in random modes, given all players the same chances to succeed as any other. The technology is also great given the fact that you can automatically place blinds and antes. There is no need for manual intervention in these areas if you don’t choose to, which in turn gives you more time to construct your hand strategy.

Statistically, online poker gives users a greater chance of winning. This is in part due to the fact that you can play more hands per hour as the automation of dealing and ante placements increases hand speeds which in turn increases players’ chances of winning. Online poker statistics nowadays can give you numerous tips on what you have been doing in the past, how successful you have been, winning ratio, tournament average placement, and many other useful information which in turn might help you win more hands and improve your game based on your past performance as it shows you where you have failed in the past. Aside from this major achievement, something to keep in mind is that online poker not only offers numerous tournaments and 24 - 7 game variations, but it also gives clients the opportunity to play at cash tables with all sorts of limits ranging from penny limits to hundreds of dollar VIP limits and more. Feel free to try some of the most established poker rooms online and have a great time while playing.

To win French roulette you need to understand the differences between this variety of the game and the more common European roulette or American roulette.

Despite the apparent differences of the table, the majority of the rules are identical. The wheel is the same, and you win by betting which number the metal ball will settle on after the roulette wheel has been spun. Just as in normal roulette you can bet on a colour (red/black), on an individual number, on a combination of numbers, or on odds/evens.

As in normal roulette the amount you win depends on how likely the bet is to win. In order to win French Roulette it is important to understand the payouts.

Column (Colonne) bet - This French Roulette bet pays 2:1. It is an outside bet on one of 3 columns of 12 numbers.

Corner Bet - Another name for a Square bet (see below)

Dozen (Une douzaine) bet - This bet also pays out at 2:1 and is any 12 numbers in sequence, for example the first 12, the second 12, or the third 12.

Even-Money bet - The even money bets all pay 1:1 (i.e. you win the same again as you wagered - as well as winning the original wager back). Even bets are all the bets that have an approx 50/50 chance of winning, eg Red or Black, Odds or Evens etc.

Line bet - This pays out at 5:1. A line bet in French Roulette is a bet on the 6 numbers in 2 adjacent rows.

Split bet - A split bet, i.e. laying 10 chips between any two numbers on the table, pays out at 17:1. This type of bet has slightly lower chance of winning overall than a straight bet, because it pays out half as much but is slightly less than double as likely to come up.

Square bet - A Square bet pays 8:1 and is a bet on any four numbers in a square layout.

Straight bet - A straight bed has the best payout at 35:1. For example if you bet 10 chips on the number 32 and you win then the payout is 350 chips (=10 chips x 35)

Street bet - This pays out at 11:1. A street bet covers any horizontal row of three numbered spaces on the felt. To win French roulette this is one of the most highly favoured bets, and some roulette strategies rely on this and Orphelins to underpin their systems.

The online gambling business is to be spared during these tough economic times and will continue to grow at double digit year on year percentage rates. This statement comes from a recent study displayed to the public right before the global financial crisis hit the world stage. A prophetic study this, as weeks later the world began to exert the economic age of turbulence predicted by the wise and now retired FED chairman, Alan Greenspan.

We live in tough economic times, where a simple bubble burst or bank breakdown has strong worldwide ripple effects which shows our interconnectivity and economic frailty in this global marketplace of social paranoia, at least in the financial speculation of the human psyche. Major banks close down such as the renowned Lehman Brothers, governments emerge to form rescue packages and purchase equity in places such as Goldman Sachs (one of the investment banking elite), and major corporations and even sports authorities fire workers such as Volvo and the NBA.

However, few industries are meant to benefit from this economic debacle, and this is the online gambling sector. Before the crisis, one would walk into marketing research firms and ask for an industry report only to see positive growth curves for the industry in terms of forecasts, and positive pro forma financial studies. Believe it or not, this is still meant to happen, and here is why. Punters will always continue to place bets, no matter the volume, it might be less than before as they will cautiously view economic downturn as a global recessionary practice in their expenditures, or they might spend more as they need to break even and hope that the online gambling endeavor will help them make ends meet.

Clients with an already addictive personality will continue to place bets. Wealthy gamblers will still make their usual monthly allotments into their gambling investments. Masses will NOT drive, fly, take public transportation to their favorite sports books or casino destinations, and instead will opt for an easy to use alternative such as betting from your PC at home or work given lower costs such as cheap broadband and no need to spend on transportation and extra costs, ease of use, and quickness combined with the safety these worldwide brands now offer the public. With the smoking ban on many brick and mortar establishments, gamblers will also take their activities online.

These are the main reasons the sector will now prosper. Some speculators even state the industry is in for a major growth due to these circumstances, and in five years, the industry will showcase top notch performance in terms of volume growth. Major gaming corporations are displaying positive value in their stocks on major world markets therefore displaying industry confidence. If Obama wins, the USA might re-open its online gambling doors yet again as the Senator has voted in favor of recent bills aimed at regulating the industry, and this will surely favor major betting operators not only in industry volume growth terms, but in financial retributions.
